While not out until February, I suspect it to be a big movie upon its release, as does Summit Entertainment, which hopes this will be their next major franchise. And while Proyas hasn't made any major film since the painful Knowing in 2009, his work on Dark City should be required viewing. I suspect Gods of Egypt to continue his track record of amazing world building while also giving some great roles to some amazingly talented actors and actresses.

Superhero movies meet Egyptian Mythology: Gods of Egypt
While the casting choices of the film have had a bit too much shade thrown on them, Gods of Egypt looks like an amazing piece of cinema from Egyptian born filmmaker Alex Proyas (The Crow). Already visually stunning, it very much seems to take queues from the Marvel blockbusters in its construction of a world where the gods are real.
